Špičkový domácí automobilový server Auto.cz se spolu se spřízněnými zahraničními projekty stal za nemalou částku součástí skupiny Axel Springer. Téměř souběžně došlo také k prodeji internetového mediazastupitelství Impression Media. Jaká byla předehra a souvislosti?

Začátek roku 2007 zastihl český Internet nade vší pochybnost v dobré akviziční náladě. Hned dvojice různých projektů se stala cílem zájmu a následně zřejmě i neodolatelné nabídky z rozhlasové, resp. tiskové strany mediálního spektra. Je zatím předčasné spekulovat, zda jde o dva izolované případy, nebo o start dlouho prorokované a očekávané vlny, která zanese vybraná internetová média do přístavů velkých vydavatelství a mediálních domů – a to zejména těch, které z jakýchkoli důvodů v oblasti online médií nejsou aktivní podle svých představ. Většina indicií však říká, že ještě letos se dočkáme zajímavých dealů a zakladatelé i provozovatelé vybraných internetových projektů dál mohou snít svůj americký sen.

Předehra jménem Impression

Prodeje serveru Auto.cz a internetového mediazastupitelství Impression Media (IM) si moc podobné nejsou, spojuje je v podstatě jen fakt, že k nim došlo téměř souběžně. V případě IM šlo o pokus opakovaný, když první námluvy po určitém čase a „po zvážení všech rizik“ uťal partner na druhé straně stolu – rozhlasová skupina Lagardére. Napodruhé už byl tým okolo šéfa IM Petra Slavíka úspěšnější, když dohodl převodu 70procentního podílu do rukou společnosti Proradio Holdings Limited, vlastníka několika regionálních rádií a mediálního zastoupení Media Marketing Services. Vedle záruky dalšího rozvoje Impression Media bylo údajně součástí transakce i urovnání minulých závazků IM. Proč tedy vlastně v souvislosti s Auto.cz zmiňovat také Impression Media? V podstatě jediným pojítkem je fakt, že jde o mediální zastoupení Auto.cz.

Taková slušná historie

Server Auto.cz funguje od září 1997, od roku 1999 jej provozuje zlínská společnost Anima Publishers. Právní forma s.r.o., tři společníci (Ondřej Bobal, Tomáš Zajíček, Jiří Šutera), kteří zároveň server připravovali – internetová klasika konce 20. století. Firma se na přelomu tisíciletí zařadila mezi nejrychleji se rozvíjející středoevropské technologické společností (13. místo v tzv. „Fast 50“ v roce 2001) a své uživatele oblažovala zajímavým novátorstvím, jako např. virtuální prohlídkou představovaných automobilů (tzv. panoramatická videa interiérů) už v roce 2001. Osvěžením byla také bezplatná platforma pro prodej nových i ojetých automobilů CarNext.com, financovaná z reklamy cílené na konkrétní uživatele v daném momentu.

Časem začala Anima Publishers spouštět zahraniční mutace Auto.cz (Roadlook.pl, Roadlook.sk), loni byla spuštěna polská verze internetového videomagazínu Roadlook-TV.

Velký zlom nastává v létě 2004, kdy 34 procenta v Anima Publishers získává švýcarská finanční společnost Centralway Holding (později vedena jako Centralway Investment 2 AG) byznysmena Martina Saidlera. Švýcaři, kteří v té době investovali také do serveru Mojedovolena.cz (následně jej přejmenovali na Invia.cz) a nedávno v ČR vstoupili do projektů Jyxo a H1, zaplatili za svůj podíl částku v řádu milionů korun…

Čtenáři Auto.cz

Auto.cz má podle aktuálních údajů NetMonitoru ze 71 procent mužské publikum, nejsilnější skupinu 20–29letých uživatelů (27 procent), středoškoláků s maturitou (34 procent) a nadprůměrný podíl čtenářů s širokopásmovým Internetem (61 procent oproti 52 procentům v klasické internetové populaci) i lidí s vysokou frekvencí užívání Internetu (21 a více dní v měsíci je připojeno 69 procent uživatelů, v klasické internetové populaci 38 procent).

Milionový obchod

…a po necelých třech letech se jim původní vklad zřejmě několikanásobně vrací. Oficiálně sice žádná konkrétní suma za 74,9procentní podíl v Anima Publishers nepadla, za internetovými kulisami se však hovoří o částce v řádu desítek milionů korun. Axel Springer svou vizi nevytvářet vlastní internetový produkt a investovat pouze do online akvizic deklaroval už dříve. Své zájmy na Internetu vydavatelství vymezilo oblastmi: internetové servery, automobilové portály a servisní servery. Nyní je zřejmě část úkolu splněna. Internetová a IPTV nabídka Anima Publishers je perfektním doplněním našich tištěných automobilových periodik. Jsme přesvědčeni, že Auto.cz ve spojení s tituly ´Světem motorů´ a ´Auto tip´ osloví ještě více čtenářů a uživatelů, komentoval v oficiálním prohlášení výhody akvizice pro kupce ředitel Axel Springer Praha Ivan Ševčík. Úvahy o případném dalším navyšování podílu většinového vlastníka v Anima Publishers zatím zůstávají bez komentáře.

A jak bude nově vypadat Auto.cz? Se změnami v obsahu a službách uživatelům samozřejmě počítáme, v první fázi však nebudou mít přímou souvislost se vstupem zahraničního investora. Každopádně plánujeme také zachování naší redakce ve stejném složení, říká šéfredaktor a jednatel a spolumajitel Auto.cz v jedné osobě Tomáš Zajíček.

Autorevue.cz: lednová ofenzíva

Nespí ani konkurence, která se pokouší vylepšovat své statistiky v předpokládaném pokračujícím boomu návštěvnosti celého českého Internetu. Vedle specializovaných stránek portálů se daří i několika dalším hráčům. Vpravdě husarský kousek se přitom podařil serveru AutoRevue.cz z portfolia vydavatelství Computer Press (CP). Návštěvnost, která se až do prosince vždy držela pod hranicí 200 tisíc reálných uživatelů za měsíc, dokázal v lednu 2007 jednorázově dostat nad půlmilion (viz box vývoje návštěvnosti). V lednu jsme významným způsobem rozšířili redakci. Abychom čtenářům dali najevo start jakési nové éry AutoRevue.cz, oslovili jsme je cílenou propagací některých atraktivních témat, která se v lednu objevila. Efekt byl částečně krátkodobý, viz obrovský skok v lednu, ale také dlouhodobý, protože i v únoru a dalších měsících očekáváme slušné výsledky. Blízkým cílem je zejména zvýšení počtu testů nových automobilů. Chceme se nadále věnovat také tématům, která nejsou všem příjemná. V tom také vidíme největší rozdíl mezi AutoRevue.cz a ostatními weby o autech: věnujeme se i kontroverzním tématům a v testech nemáme problém napsat pravdu, říká vedoucí internetových médií CP Marek Lutonský. Za důležitou považuje i podporu komunity, která se na AutoRevue sdružuje zejména kolem diskuzního fóra a fotogalerie s autotématikou.

Nezbývá než spekulovat, na jaké frontě bude zájem o internetové projekty pokračovat. Případné sázky na některé servery i portály držené investičními skupinami slibují už dnes velice zajímavé kurzy.
