Dopravní podnik po dlouhých domluvách schválil dohodu s trojicí mobilních operátorů a první tunely se začnou pokrývat LTE signálem. Pilotní provoz by měl ještě letos rozsvítit vyzařovací kabely mezi stanicemi Roztyly a Muzeum. Pokrytí celé sítě metra by mohlo být postupně dokončeno zhruba do tří let.

Oznámil to generální ředitel DPP Martin Gillar. „Operátoři zrealizují pilotní projekt a my s nimi uzavřeme dlouhodobý kontrakt na pokrytí celé sítě metra mobilním signálem,“ řekl Gillar. Smlouva s operátory by mohla být podepsána do konce letošního března. 

Operátoři jsou ale zatím při zemi. „Stále zůstávají nedořešené důležité body smlouvy. Do konce února by proto měla proběhnout další jednání. Pevně doufáme, že s DPP nalezneme shodu. Termín podpisu smlouvy ale ve chvíli, kdy jednání stále nejsou u konce, nemůžeme předjímat,“ cituje Patricie Šedivá z T-Mobile společné prohlášení T-Mobile, Vodafone a CETIN, která buduje síť pro O2.

Dosud se dá volat a surfovat v metru jen v nových tunelech mezi Bořislavkou a Motolem. Dohoda zní tak, že DPP umožní operátorům umístit v tunelech takzvané vyzařovací kabely a operátoři na oplátku podniku poskytnou data o pohybu cestujících. Data mají být podle Gillara anonymní a jen v rozsahu operativního dopravního výzkumu. 

Kabely se budou do tunelů zabudovávat mimo provoz metra, a tak operátory čekají noční šichty. „Nesmí to ohrozit provoz. Náš požadavek je nula nákladů. Bavili jsme se také o posunování návěstidel a podobně, ale to nepřipadá v úvahu, bezpečnost je na prvním místě,“ dodává Gillar.
