Ve středu 28. května vypršel termín pro podání přihlášek do výběrového řízení na generální ředitelku nebo generálního ředitele České televize. 

Rada České televize ve čtvrtek 29. května zveřejnila oficiální seznam uchazečů. „Celkem se do výběrového řízení přihlásilo 21 lidí. Některé přihlášky obsahovaly více či méně závažné nedostatky, vše bude zaznamenáno v notářském zápisu, který zveřejníme ihned po vyhotovení. Konečné slovo bude mít Rada ČT, která finální seznam kandidátů schválí na svém dalším zasedání 11. června,“ uvedl předseda Rady ČT Karel Novák.

  2. Cón Ondřej (živnostník, kandidoval už v roce 2023)

Projekty všech kandidátů, kteří splnili základní požadavky výběrového řízení, obdrží všichni členové Rady České televize. Ve středu 11. června budou hlasovat o pěti finalistech. Těchto pět finalistů se pak představí při veřejné prezentaci o týden později, ve středu 18. června. Po skončení prezentace projektů a po doplňujících otázkách se uskuteční samotná volba. 

Podle zákona je ke zvolení generálního ředitele nebo ředitelky potřeba alespoň 10 hlasů. Pokud by žádný uchazeč nezískal dostatek hlasů, bude se volba opakovat ve středu 25. června.
