K Wi-Fi v pražském metru se ve špičce připojí 500 lidí, za měsíc stáhnou 8,5 TB dat

Po půlroce pilotního projektu Dopravní podnik (DPP) prozradil aspoň nějaké informace o tom, jak funguje Wi-Fi v šesti stanicích pražského metra. Vychází přitom z dat firmy ČD – Telematika, která pokrytí technicky zajišťuje.

V ranní a večerní špičce se podle DPP k Wi-Fi připojí „až cca 500 uživatelů“ (tím je patrně myšlen počet lidí, kteří se připojují v jeden okamžik). Nejvíce je jich kolem páté večer, kdy lidé jezdí z práce. Měsíčně si uživatelé přes Wi-Fi síť stáhnou asi 8,5 TB dat.

„Měsíčně nyní registrujeme 127 000 unikátních aktivních zařízení připojených na bezpečnostní informační Wi-Fi systém,“ tvrdí generální ředitel Dopravního podniku Martin Gillar. 

Onen bezpečnostní systém má DPP umožňovat lidem připojeným k Wi-Fi zobrazit případné aktuální informace. V metru je momentálně nainstalováno celkem 75 přístupových bodů (AP). Celý pilotní projekt DPP přišel na více než 12 milionů Kč.

Ještě letos by se podle slibu politiků měl do prvních tunelů a stanic metra rozšířit také LTE signál.
